Naines rouges

  • Percentage of Naines rouges within 98.5 années lumière: 70.79 % (6741 from 9522 stars)
  • Average masse of Naines rouges: 7.5-50% solar mass
  • Average rayon of Naines rouges: 10-60% solar radius
  • Average température of Naines rouges: 2400-3900 K

Image: Orbital and atmospheric evolution of the mini-Neptune TOI-2257 b
TOI-2257 b represents a unique case in planetary science due to its 35-day orbital period and high eccentricity, which describes how much an orbit deviates from a perfect circle. Located in a sparsely populated region of planetary parameter space, it sits at a critical threshold where the combined effects of stellar radiation and tidal forces - gravitational stresses caused by the host star - begin to lose their influence over the planet. Simulations show that the planet remains near this transi...

Image: Atmospheric composition of sub-Neptune planets around Red dwarf stars reveals new hybrid class
Analysis of sub-Neptune planets around Red dwarf stars using JWST data reveals a new category of hybrid worlds. These planets have atmospheric compositions that do not align with traditional gas dwarf or water world definitions. Study highlights include TOI-776 c....

Image: Observations of TRAPPIST-1 c reveal a likely airless surface without a thick atmosphere
Analysis of four transit observations of TRAPPIST-1 c shows the planet is likely airless. By using a new method to account for stellar activity, researchers ruled out thick carbon dioxide and nitrogen atmospheres for this rocky exoplanet....

Image: Temperate sub-Neptune planet orbiting the red dwarf star TOI-210 confirmed
A temperate sub-Neptune planet, TOI-210 b, has been confirmed orbiting the red dwarf TOI-210. With 6.75 times Earth's mass, the planet is likely a water-rich world or a gas dwarf. Evidence also points to two additional planets in the system....
